Path of Exile 2's final ExileCon qualifier will follow the 0.5.5 reveal on August 27

August 27 has two very different kinds of Path of Exile 2 pressure packed into the same evening. GGG has patch information to show first. Ninety minutes later, racers will be chasing the final ExileCon spot on a fixed Runes of Aldur layout.

Four qualifiers use the same basic test

The final qualifier begins at 2pm PDT. Players race through a Solo Self-Found Runes of Aldur event with a fixed layout, and the first competitor to defeat Tavakai in Act Four wins the ExileCon place.

It is not Hardcore. Death instead locks the character in place for two and a half minutes. In a race measured by routing and execution, that is long enough to turn one mistake into a very visible problem without ending the run outright.

GGG also requires eligible racers to connect their Path of Exile and Twitch accounts and stream their entire attempt. The company says an entry cannot win if part of the run cannot be reviewed through that stream.

The winner gets more than a leaderboard result

First place earns travel and accommodation for ExileCon in Auckland, an Ultra VIP ticket, entry into the Path of Exile 2 Race Finale and a Demigod's Virtue Unique Helmet.

The November finale brings together the winners of the four qualifier events on the ExileCon stage.

Before the race, GGG has a patch to explain

The broadcast itself starts at 12:30pm PDT. Grinding Gear Games says it will reveal new Path of Exile 2 information and discuss update 0.5.5 before Game Director Jonathan Rogers joins ZiggyD for a short Q&A.

The announcement is deliberately thin on patch content. It does not confirm a class, a specific skill package or a named endgame overhaul, and GGG has not published a 0.5.5 change list alongside the August 21 notice.

That also leaves some distance between this stream and the separate Path of Exile 2 reveal scheduled for gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25. GGG has confirmed both appearances, but has not said that one simply repeats the other.

The August 27 sequence starts with the GGG Live at 12:30pm PDT and moves into the fourth qualifier at 2pm PDT.
