Forbidden Rites is live in Path of Exile 2. The September 4 event league offers a fresh economy without deleting Runes of Aldur progress, while patch 0.5.5 changes several systems for everyone ahead of the December 11 full release.
News News
Forbidden Rites is much larger than its original “event” label suggested. Path of Exile 2's new league runs from September 4 until the December 11 launch of version 1.0, with a completely fresh economy. More importantly, Grinding Gear Games is making Ritual part of the entire leveling path: every campaign area gets an encounter, bosses can be carried forward into later Rituals, and the system eventually connects to a returning Wildwood that allows players to deliberately make maps more dangerous for better rewards.
News News
Three months is long enough for an event league to become something much closer to a proper season. Grinding Gear Games has now clarified that Forbidden Rites will run from September 4 all the way to Path of Exile 2's full launch on December 11. For players who enjoy the game's fresh-economy resets, it effectively becomes the final full league start of Early Access.
News News
Path of Exile 2 has spent almost two years letting players build around spears, crossbows, maces, bows and increasingly strange combinations of skills. Swords have been conspicuously absent. Grinding Gear Games is saving them for December 11, when the game reaches 1.0 and the Duelist joins the roster.
News News
Path of Exile 2 has its third ExileCon finalist. Jigglypuff won the August 20 qualifier, joining Jiluo and Giuygiuyg before the series decides its final Auckland ticket next week.
News News
August 27 has two very different kinds of Path of Exile 2 pressure packed into the same evening. GGG has patch information to show first. Ninety minutes later, racers will be chasing the final ExileCon spot on a fixed Runes of Aldur layout.
