Mycopunk leaves Early Access on October 20 with even more ways to break its builds

Mycopunk has spent fifteen months adding more machinery to a game already built around ridiculous combinations. That Early Access period finally ends October 20, when Pigeons at Play launches version 1.0 on PC and PS5 for $14.99.

Mycopunk launches in full on October 20, 2026. Devolver Digital and Pigeons at Play confirmed that the mission-based co-op shooter will leave Steam Early Access and arrive on PlayStation 5 on the same day.

The announced price is $14.99, and the PS5 version will enter the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog at launch.

Fifteen months of Early Access changed quite a lot

The PC version first arrived on July 10, 2025. Since then, Pigeons at Play has overhauled the interface, added the Ouroboros roguelike mode and Ice Floes region, introduced more weapons and a grenade, built procedural levels and redesigned its enemies.

The underlying loop is still recognizable. Up to four players take jobs as the New Atlas Hazard Crew, deploy into fungal-infested regions and return with upgrades that slot into grid-based layouts for weapons and equipment.

Those grids are where Mycopunk gets strange. Mods can interact according to how they are arranged, allowing builds to drift far beyond straightforward damage increases. The current game already contains hundreds of upgrades.

Version 1.0 is not just removing the Early Access label

The full release is being prepared as another major content update. Pigeons at Play has teased additional guns, grenades, maps and modes alongside a fifth playable employee.

The studio is also adding Fulfillments, an internal achievement system that can reward cosmetics. Yes, that includes hats.

Another planned addition is X11-B, a moonlet of New Atlas built as a higher-difficulty region for established builds. Its enemies are tougher and more damaging, while electromagnetic storms can periodically disrupt player abilities.

Enemies can turn your successful shots into their spare parts

Mycopunk's fungal machines are not conventional targets that politely disappear once pieces are blown off. Components left on the ground can be picked up by other enemies, letting the infestation reuse whatever the squad just removed.

That enemy system has been one of the areas reworked during Early Access. The developer has replaced and redesigned creatures to better sell the idea that New Atlas technology is being infected and repurposed rather than simply populated by generic monsters.

PS5 gives the squad a much larger recruitment pool

October 20 is also Mycopunk's console debut. Until now the game has been available only on PC, so the PS5 release and day-one PlayStation Plus placement significantly widen the number of people who can join its four-player missions.

Between those missions, everyone returns to the H.U.B., an orbital dropship filled with equipment, distractions and the insectoid SAXON veteran Roachard Cox. It is part loadout space, part social room and part excuse to avoid the next job for another few minutes.

Mycopunk reaches version 1.0 on PC and PlayStation 5 on October 20.
