PS Plus Extra and Premium October 2026 Games Include Mafia, Horizon and Dino Crisis 2

Sony revealed its October PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog additions on October 14. Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West and Mycopunk lead the selection, while Dino Crisis 2 joins the Premium lineup. Most of the games are scheduled for October 20, 2026, although several important exceptions apply.

After announcing October's monthly games in late September, PlayStation has revealed the next part of its subscription lineup. This announcement concerns the Game Catalog available through Extra and Premium subscriptions, rather than the monthly games offered under the standard PlayStation Plus arrangement.

The selection covers a remarkably broad range of experiences. Players can expect a crime drama, an expansive open world, cooperative shooting, horror adventures and theme park management. Premium subscribers also receive two additions to the classics selection.

Mafia: The Old Country Leads the Lineup

The headline addition is Mafia: The Old Country, scheduled to enter the PS5 catalog on October 20.

Developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K, the game takes the franchise back to early twentieth-century Sicily. Players follow Enzo Favara as he becomes entangled in the dangerous world of organized crime.

The adventure emphasizes storytelling, characters and shifting power relationships. Its action combines gunfights, close-range encounters and travel across the Sicilian landscape.

Its arrival gives eligible subscribers another way to experience the game without buying it separately. However, Game Catalog access should not be confused with permanent ownership. Continued play depends on the relevant subscription and catalog conditions.

Horizon Forbidden West Returns

Horizon Forbidden West is another major addition, although Sony specifically identifies it as a re-release within the subscription catalog.

Guerrilla Games' open-world adventure returns on October 20 for PS5 and PS4. Players follow Aloy into the Forbidden West, where mysterious threats, new tribes and increasingly dangerous machines await.

The return provides an opportunity for subscribers who did not finish the game during its previous catalog availability. It also offers newcomers a chance to experience one of PlayStation's prominent first-party adventures.

The announcement concerns Horizon Forbidden West itself. Players should not assume that every associated expansion is automatically included.

Mycopunk Arrives on PlayStation Through Game Catalog on Day One

Mycopunk is one of the more unusual choices. Sony says the cooperative shooter will join the PS5 catalog on October 20 as a day-one PlayStation release.

The premise follows a group of malfunctioning robots hired to eliminate a fungal alien threat. Players complete missions, acquire equipment and experiment with extensive weapon and ability customization.

Up to four people can cooperate, combining different upgrades and approaches to survive increasingly demanding encounters.

The inclusion gives subscribers something different from the cinematic adventures that often dominate major PlayStation announcements.

Horror, Fantasy and Japanese RPGs Follow

Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 brings another disturbing chapter of the toy factory mystery, featuring puzzles and threatening creatures. Sony lists October 27 availability for the United States, United Kingdom and Japan.

The Midnight Walk follows a separate schedule. Its handcrafted dark fantasy world has been available since October 14 in the United States and United Kingdom, with Japan following on October 15.

The PS5 adventure also supports PlayStation VR2 and features a journey alongside Potboy, a small lantern companion.

Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition adds a Japanese role-playing experience to the lineup. Its October 27 arrival is announced for PS5 and PS4 in the three territories specifically identified by Sony.

Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game rounds out the later additions with motorcycle racing and career progression, also scheduled for October 27 in those territories.

Premium Subscribers Get Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

The Premium classics selection expands on October 20 with two markedly different games.

Dino Crisis 2 returns to Capcom's dinosaur-filled survival adventure. Regina and Dylan face prehistoric creatures following a temporal catastrophe, with combat taking place across jungles, caves and other dangerous environments.

The game will be available through Premium on PS5 and PS4, offering another opportunity to revisit a classic action-horror franchise.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition takes a very different approach. Players construct amusement parks, manage their finances, organize staff and attempt to keep visitors entertained.

Together, these additions demonstrate how the Premium library can complement contemporary blockbuster games with experiences from very different genres.

Two Premium Game Trials Are Coming

Sony also announced Premium game trials for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell II, both scheduled for October 20.

These are trials rather than full additions to the subscription catalog. Their availability and limitations follow the conditions of the PlayStation Plus Premium service.

HorrorFest Brings Halloween Extras

PlayStation is also marking Halloween with several HorrorFest promotions and subscriber benefits.

World War Z and Back 4 Blood receive related offers. Eligible subscribers can claim the Tunnels of Terror expansion for Back 4 Blood without additional cost between October 21 and November 4, while other content is covered by promotional discounts.

Dead by Daylight features a community challenge running from October 20 through October 26. Players must collectively complete ten million matches to unlock an exclusive PlayStation Plus cosmetic pack.

A separate offer involving the Until Dawn film on Sony Pictures Core is planned for October 28, subject to regional eligibility and the relevant promotional conditions.

When Will the New Games Become Available?

October 20 is the main date for Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West, Mycopunk, Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition.

Several other games follow later schedules, including October 27 additions in the regions named in Sony's announcement. The Midnight Walk is already available in certain territories.

Sony warns that Extra, Premium and Deluxe lineups can vary by country. Players should therefore check their regional PlayStation Store for the definitive catalog and availability dates.

October's selection brings together established releases, a day-one PlayStation addition and classic titles. For subscribers, the essential details are the exact release date of each game and the membership tier required to access it.
