Edge of Memories launches November 5, and its Steam demo has already forced the game to change
A demo is most useful when the game that eventually launches is not exactly the one it showed. Edge of Memories now has a November 5 release date, and its team is already detailing changes driven by Steam Next Fest feedback: combat rebalancing, revised enemy reactions, additional settings and considerably more optimisation work.
Edge of Memories launches November 5, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. Nacon confirmed the date with a new trailer after previously keeping the game inside a broader late-2026 window.
The project continues to be presented as developed by Midgar Studio and published by Nacon.
Steam Next Fest did more than generate wishlists
June's demo offered almost two hours of content, including part of the opening chapter, Eline's first unlockable combos, Ysoris as a companion and the game's first boss.
Player feedback pushed the team to revisit combat feel. Enemy reactions, health values and the damage spikes created by Eline's combo system were all identified as areas receiving another balance pass.

The developers even singled out some of the crab enemies in the demo when discussing encounters where damage scaling and responsiveness still needed attention.
Some cutscenes still had one foot in an earlier prototype
Several conversations in the demo contained incomplete facial animation and limited lip movement.
The team explains that some of those scenes originally existed as portrait-based conversations before development expanded them into fully staged in-game sequences.
That change in scope is why parts of the Next Fest build looked much less finished than the surrounding exploration and combat.
Motion blur, subtitles and small irritations are being addressed too
The launch build is also receiving expected quality-of-life settings including motion-blur controls and the ability to disable subtitles.
Visual bugs, numerical balancing and smaller usability issues reported during the demo period have been part of the same feedback pass.
None of those features makes for an exciting trailer, but all of them become very noticeable across a full RPG.
Combat deliberately leaves Edge of Eternity behind
Edge of Memories abandons its predecessor's tactical turn-based structure in favour of fully real-time action.
Eline chains attacks, relies on precisely timed dodges and can call on companion abilities to extend pressure or create openings.
Her most dramatic ability remains the Berserker transformation, tied directly to the Corrosion she gradually learns to control inside her own body.
Avaris changes as the Corrosion spreads
The game remains part of Heryon, the setting introduced by Edge of Eternity, but moves the story to the continent of Avaris and is designed to work without requiring knowledge of the earlier game.

Locations can change as the Corrosion advances, creating altered routes and new ways through areas that have already been visited.
Eline can also cross the larger landscapes aboard a Nekaroo, the feline mount associated with the series.
November 5 is now the real deadline
The PC version supports English and Japanese voice acting, while text localisation is announced across eleven languages.
Nacon is also selling physical PS5 and Xbox Series editions, with higher-tier packages adding costume sets, a digital artbook and soundtrack.
The release date is settled. The more interesting question now is how much of the team's post-demo work will be visible when the final build replaces the version players tested in June.
