PlayStation is stacking two State of Play broadcasts on September 3
Sony is turning September 3 into a double showcase. A standard State of Play will cover PlayStation Studios and third-party partners before handing the stream directly to a Japan-focused second broadcast hosted by Yuki Kaji.

The broadcasts begin at 6:00am PT, 9:00am ET, 3:00pm CEST and 10:00pm JST on PlayStation's YouTube and Twitch channels.
Sony has not announced a runtime for either program. It also has not published a complete lineup, leaving most of the first State of Play deliberately undefined beyond the promise of updates and announcements from internal PlayStation teams and external partners.
There is one unusually specific commitment: Final Fantasy VII Revelation will close the first broadcast with an extended look at its world.
Square Enix is returning to Revelation almost immediately
The timing is notable because Final Fantasy VII Revelation was already one of Square Enix's major Gamescom games. A new trailer released on August 26 showed the planet's Weapons awakening, the Highwind in flight and additional gameplay.
The third chapter concludes the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy in Spring 2027. Unlike the original launches of Remake and Rebirth, Revelation is scheduled simultaneously for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Square Enix has already confirmed several major systems that could support a deeper presentation. Players will navigate an interconnected world with the Highwind, choose places to descend from the air and add Cid and Vincent to the playable party.
Combat again combines real-time action with Tactical Mode commands, while the new FITS system links class-inspired abilities to special outfits.
Sony has not said which of these systems will appear on September 3, so the only confirmed promise is the extended Revelation segment itself.
State of Play Japan starts as soon as the first show ends
The second presentation is not simply a dubbed continuation of the first.
State of Play Japan will be hosted by Yuki Kaji and focus on upcoming games from developers in Japan and elsewhere in Asia. PlayStation specifically promises deeper looks, fresh gameplay and announcements.
The language setup changes with the program. The main State of Play will be presented in English with Japanese subtitles available. State of Play Japan will be in Japanese with English subtitles.
Almost every other game remains speculation
Sony has not confirmed another title for the global show. That distinction matters with only a few days remaining, because PlayStation has several announced projects that could plausibly appear but have not actually been placed on the schedule.
The same applies to the Japan broadcast. Its regional focus tells viewers where the developers come from, not which games have been booked.
Until Sony or the studios announce otherwise, prediction lists remain prediction lists.
The split gives Sony two different showcases without waiting for another date
A global State of Play has to balance PlayStation Studios, large third parties and smaller games from multiple regions. A separate Japan program can spend more time on creators who might otherwise compete for a short slot in that broader lineup.
Running the programs back-to-back turns that distinction into a single event while preserving two editorial identities.
The broadcasts begin September 3 at 6:00am PT. Sony has not disclosed when the combined presentation will end.
