Where the Seeds Fall is only about three hours long, and every drop is meant to matter
Cygames could have introduced its new development label with something enormous. Instead, CygamesEdge is starting with a roughly three-hour adventure about walking to the edge of a gigantic tree and deliberately jumping off it. The restraint feels like part of the pitch.
Where the Seeds Fall will launch on November 5, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. It is the first release attached to CygamesEdge, Cygames' new label for small and mid-sized development teams.
Cygames says the label is designed around agility, strong core mechanics and room for more experimental ideas. Where the Seeds Fall provides a conveniently literal demonstration: most of the game revolves around getting down.
Humanity moved into the World Tree
Blight has devastated the surface, forcing people to build settlements high among the branches of the World Tree. Fell Children are treated as omens of disaster by the communities living there.
After encountering one of those children, a soldier defies his orders and decides to escort them toward the contaminated ground below.

That destination changes the usual shape of an adventure. Progress does not mean reaching another summit. Every branch, ruin and broken platform is part of a route downward.
Falling is a mechanic, not a failure state
The descent keeps deliberately human weight in the controls. Strong winds affect movement, secure landing areas are limited, and CygamesEdge wants players to feel the risk of stepping away from stable ground.
The central trick is Flower Dive. Buds found on the World Tree can be thrown toward a potential landing point. They bloom into flowers capable of absorbing an otherwise lethal impact.
The player therefore creates part of the route before committing to it. Reading the terrain matters, but so does reading the wind and deciding exactly where a safe landing should exist.
It is an unusually compact design pitch. The entire game will depend on whether those distances remain readable enough to make a failed jump feel like a bad decision rather than an argument with the camera.
Three hours is the intended size
CygamesEdge estimates that the main story can be completed in roughly three hours. There is no attempt to disguise that figure or stretch it into a much larger promise.
Higher-difficulty maps and a time trial mode unlock additional challenges after the main journey. That changes the question from surviving a descent to optimizing one, with route selection and execution becoming more important once the story is no longer setting the pace.
CygamesEdge starts small on purpose
The game is also the clearest explanation of why Cygames created the new label. CygamesEdge is explicitly focused on small and mid-scale projects, including internal development and partnerships with external creators such as ZEREO.
Cygames is promising those teams access to its development, publishing and global support infrastructure without forcing every idea into the production shape of a major long-form release.
Where the Seeds Fall will be the first test of that strategy when it launches November 5. The price has not yet been announced.
