Once Human is rebuilding its classes before Isles of Abyss: patch 3.0.6 and the roadmap ahead
Isles of Abyss is the obvious destination on Once Human's calendar, but Starry Studio is doing quite a lot before October 22. Version 3.0.6 has already rebuilt the Beastmaster around mounted combat, stripped unnecessary maintenance out of ranching and expanded the Gardener's combat kit.
Once Human version 3.0.6 went live on September 16 and has received several rounds of fixes since, including another batch on September 21. The main release is far larger than a bug-fix update: it alters classes, animals, permanent servers, combat balance and several quality-of-life systems while preparing the game for its next scenario.
Beast Riding turns animals into build components
Beastmasters can now summon animals directly from the backpack or hotbar, saddle compatible creatures and fight while mounted. Deer, boars, bears and wild buffalo are supported in the current version.
Each animal has a distinct combat purpose for Beastmasters. Deer can translate movement speed into additional Weapon and Status Damage. Bears provide offensive bonuses and a shockwave. Boars can absorb part of the damage that would otherwise hit the rider.

Players can fire guns, use melee weapons, gather and perform several interactions without dismounting. Actions with more involved character animations still remove the rider from the mount.
The one-animal limit already has an expiration date
The awkward part of the rework is temporary. Starry Studio originally planned to reduce Beastmasters to one simultaneously summoned animal. Community feedback led the team to reverse that decision, but the change could not be completed in time for September 16.
The September 28 update is therefore scheduled to restore a three-animal simultaneous summon limit for Beastmasters. Other classes remain limited to one.
Traits designed around multiple active animals are intended to continue functioning, and previously raised creatures keep their purpose. This is not a wipe disguised as class balancing.
Ranching now revolves around one resource instead of three
Animal maintenance has been simplified at the same time. Tameness and Hydration are gone, leaving Energy as the main value governing growth, breeding and production.
Animals above 80% Energy can breed and operate at high production efficiency. Between 20% and 80%, they continue producing but cannot breed. Below 20%, growth and production pause.
The interface now exposes those states more clearly, offline feeding has been adjusted around trough inventory, and animal locations can be tracked from the world map.
Gardeners finally bring more than one plant into a fight
Portable Planter Boxes containing different biomechanical crops now operate independently, allowing multiple units to exist on the battlefield with separate cooldowns.
Those units cover different jobs including taunting, Weapon or Status Damage support, petrification, teleportation and direct attacks. The added power comes with a durability cost for Portable Planter Boxes, so repeated deployment is no longer free.
September 28 is the next confirmed patch
The next version update is scheduled for September 28 at 4 PM PT. Beyond restoring the Beastmaster's three summons, Starry Studio plans to make face reshaping, body customization and palette hair dyeing free through the territory mirror.
Chrysalis Tokens and Butterfly Dyes are being removed from their existing acquisition channels and converted into Colorful Badges, with compensation planned for qualifying recent purchases. The Metamorphosis Token price is also being reduced from 880 to 300 Crystgins.
October 22 is the much larger date
Isles of Abyss launches globally on October 22 as a free update across PC, mobile, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with cross-play and cross-progression.

The new scenario shifts Once Human into an ocean survival structure spread across five maritime regions. Players will move between islands, the sea surface and underwater locations while building vessels that can grow from basic transportation into mobile sea fortresses with crafting facilities and artillery.
Server-wide progression includes Calamity Towers, roaming Voyager encounters and Haywire Zones that alter environmental survival rules. The scenario eventually builds toward The Sunken Lord as its major endgame threat.
The final confidential Pioneer Test is already running and is scheduled to close on October 8, leaving a two-week gap before public launch.
The roadmap becomes deliberately fuzzier after that
A few pieces extend further. Gravity Abyss has been prolonged until November 18 while the next Visional Wheel theme is being prepared, and Starry Studio says aquatic mounts are among the next creatures planned for the expanded riding system.
The firm near-term sequence is much easier to read: September 28 for the next systems patch, October 8 for the end of the final Isles of Abyss test, and October 22 for the ocean expansion itself.
