Mouthwashing comes to Xbox Game Pass and consoles on October 29
Five crew members are trapped aboard a doomed space freighter, with little food and no hope of rescue. Mouthwashing launches on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2026, with day-one Xbox Game Pass availability.
The Tulpar is no longer capable of completing its journey. Following a disastrous crash, its five crew members are stranded in deep space, surrounded by dwindling supplies and the consequences of decisions they cannot undo.
Captain Curly has suffered devastating injuries and can no longer speak. The surviving crew must confront their situation while tensions grow between people who have little reason to trust one another.
This is the central premise of Mouthwashing, Wrong Organ's first-person psychological horror game. Released on PC in September 2024, it is now preparing to launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on October 29.
Publisher CRITICAL REFLEX confirmed the console release during the October 20 ID@Xbox presentation, along with day-one availability through Xbox Game Pass.
A disaster with no easy escape
The crew of the Tulpar must survive aboard a damaged commercial freighter. According to the official description, the ship has enough remaining power for approximately six months, while its food supplies will run out much sooner.
Mouthwashing uses that situation to explore the psychological consequences of isolation. Its characters are trapped not only by the physical boundaries of the ship but by the secrets and decisions that brought them there.
The experience is narrative-driven, with exploration and observation revealing pieces of the crew's history.

The story also introduces uncertainty about what the player is witnessing. Hallucinations and disturbing changes in perception complicate the effort to reconstruct the disaster.
Instead of promising an escape through crafting or combat progression, the game asks players to confront the human consequences of a situation that may already be beyond repair.
Retro visuals and uncompromising horror
Wrong Organ employs deliberately low-polygon character models and environments that recall late-1990s three-dimensional games.
That visual style creates a striking contrast with the game's difficult subject matter. The official content warning includes extreme violence, gore and mutilation.
Mouthwashing is therefore intended for mature audiences comfortable with intense psychological horror.

Its disturbing atmosphere is closely linked to the characters' relationships and the gradual revelation of what happened aboard the Tulpar.
A major milestone for an independent game
CRITICAL REFLEX reports that Mouthwashing has sold more than 800,000 copies on Steam.
The publisher also highlights awards including Best Narrative and Players' Choice at the Horror Game Awards.
The sales figure is a publisher-reported cumulative milestone rather than a measure of current concurrent players.
The console editions will allow Wrong Organ's game to reach audiences beyond its original PC release.
Xbox Game Pass and platform availability
Mouthwashing launches on October 29 across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
The Xbox release supports Xbox Play Anywhere and will be included in Xbox Game Pass. The US Xbox Store lists a standalone price of $12.99.
The original PC version has been available on Steam since September 26, 2024, with French interface text and subtitles among its supported languages.
Wrong Organ also plans to introduce Italian localisation in an October 29 update.
The console release gives the psychological horror title a new opportunity to reach players, arriving just two days before Halloween.
