B.L.U.E. NOVA starts solo, then turns into a 30-player war with infinite ammunition
B.L.U.E. NOVA has a fairly direct answer to the inconvenience of reloading: gather enough people together and temporarily make ammunition infinite. GungHo's new cooperative PvE shooter is coming to Steam in 2027 with battles that can grow from one player to thirty.
GungHo Online Entertainment has announced B.L.U.E. NOVA, a free-to-play third-person cooperative PvE shooter for PC. It is scheduled for Steam in 2027 with optional in-game purchases.
Its most unusual structural choice is that the largest activity does not begin as a conventional 30-player group.
You drop alone and build the force during the mission
Tower Raid begins with individual players entering the battlefield separately. As they move toward the central Master Tower, they encounter other players and gradually combine into a much larger force.
Up to 30 people can participate. The group has to fight through mechanical armies and defensive positions before destroying the main tower.
The intended rhythm is therefore one of accumulation: isolation first, then an increasingly crowded assault.

The R.I.N.G. System turns proximity into power
B.L.U.E. NOVA's central mechanic is the R.I.N.G. System. Entering a ring together with allies activates Unlimited Attack.
That state grants major buffs and infinite ammunition. GungHo also describes automatic ally gathering as another source of statistical bonuses.
Cooperation is therefore not only useful because more people produce more gunfire. Physically converging with other players is itself a combat mechanic.
Thirty players attack towers, six take on bosses
Tower Raid is the largest mode, but GungHo is building smaller activities around it.
Boss Raid supports six-player teams in higher-difficulty encounters against major enemies. Challenge content adds separate objectives, including areas available only on particular days or at certain times and speed-focused activities.
The structure suggests multiple scales of cooperative play rather than forcing every activity into the same 30-player format.
A hero does not completely define the build
Players choose from a roster of heroes, but their combat setup also depends on equipped armour.
Armour can be customised through systems including skill trees, and GungHo says the same hero can develop substantially different skills and power depending on the chosen configuration.

For a hero-based shooter, that creates useful room between character identity and mechanical role.
Humanity's colony AI has predictably gone wrong
The story begins with Earth facing destruction around the year 2200. Humanity relocates toward Deval, a planet whose environment closely resembles Earth's.
EVE, the AI responsible for planetary development, eventually turns against humanity and commands a rebellion of mechanical weapons.
The world's nations respond by consolidating military resources into the United Special Forces, while mercenary Heroes join the fight to reclaim the planet.
Four of those heroes also exist as VTubers
Seraphy, Rico, Logi and JJ are simultaneously characters in B.L.U.E. NOVA and members of GungHo's VTuber group SNIVPA.
SNIVPA began appearing publicly before GungHo revealed the connection. The group's debut single, Too Rich, Too Bold, is also used as the teaser's theme song.
B.L.U.E. NOVA is being presented at Tokyo Game Show 2026 with an extended teaser and an event-exclusive SNIVPA video. The game launches on Steam in 2027.
