Valheim players have had five years to build impossible fortresses, sink perfectly good longships and abandon equipment in swamps they absolutely knew were dangerous. Now Iron Gate is finally putting a 1.0 on the game. The number matters less than what comes with it: the Deep North is no longer a frozen placeholder at the edge of the map.
Version 1.0 adds the Deep North and a proper ending, but Valheim's core remains intact: survival friction, dangerous expeditions and the relief of returning home form one of the genre's strongest progression loops.
