We Were Here Tomorrow launches October 20 with the series' biggest two-player adventure yet

We Were Here Tomorrow finally has a date. Total Mayhem Games will send its two Explorers into Norček Industries on October 20, and this time the studio is stretching its asymmetric co-op formula into an adventure it says will last around 15 hours.

We Were Here Tomorrow launches October 20, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Cross-play will connect all three platforms, while the standard edition is priced at €19.99, $19.99 or £16.99 with a 10% launch discount.

Total Mayhem Games calls it the biggest We Were Here adventure it has made so far. Around 15 hours of content are planned.

The walkie-talkie still matters, but your tools do too

Tomorrow keeps the rule that has defined the series: this is a two-player cooperative game built around incomplete information. Explorers are frequently separated and have to explain what they can see through their walkie-talkies before either person can understand the whole puzzle.

The difference is that the two roles now have distinct high-tech tools and abilities. A player is not simply standing on the opposite side of the same problem. Some obstacles depend on what only one member of the pair can physically do.

Total Mayhem Games has already teased puzzles involving time, gravity and space. One of its official screenshots has the Explorers standing on entirely different surfaces inside the same corridor. Communication is still the foundation; the geometry around it is becoming considerably stranger.

Norček Industries is a very different kind of prison

The castles and frozen medieval imagery associated with earlier entries have been replaced by a retro-futuristic industrial facility beneath Antarctica. Total Mayhem describes the style as an imagined '80s future, mixing cassette futurism, bulky technology and a synthwave soundtrack.

The two Explorers awaken there with little memory of how they arrived. Norček Industries director Kathleen Bowe wants them to finish the work of a research team that disappeared just as it was approaching a breakthrough, with a wider global crisis hanging over the facility.

New players are not expected to study five games of lore before starting. Tomorrow is designed as a standalone adventure, although its story follows the previous entries and includes connections for returning players.

Fifteen hours needs more than fifteen hours of rooms

Total Mayhem is also opening up the structure. Instead of moving almost exclusively from one isolated puzzle chamber to another, Tomorrow uses larger themed areas that can contain several challenges. The studio has compared their structure to dungeons, with environments changing as the pair completes tasks.

Traversal has been expanded alongside that shift. It matters because a longer campaign by itself is not automatically an improvement for a co-op puzzle game; larger spaces and genuinely different roles give the extra runtime somewhere to go.

Two players means two players

There is still no solo workaround. The Steam listing explicitly describes We Were Here Tomorrow as co-op only and requires a working microphone and internet connection on PC.

A Fan Edition will also be sold on Steam with additional downloadable content and the official soundtrack. The main game arrives October 20 at $19.99, with its launch discount bringing the first round of arguments over badly described puzzle symbols slightly cheaper.
