The final Z Event is live: 300 streamers, 22 charities and one last massive weekend
Z Event has started its final run. The 2026 edition brings roughly 300 affiliated streamers together around 22 charities, closing a ten-year chapter that turned an internet gathering built around games and creators into a major French fundraising event.

The marathon officially began at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 4. Streams will continue through Sunday, with creators participating from Montpellier and remotely across Twitch.
The familiar ingredients are still there: games, collaborations, escalating donation goals, increasingly questionable challenges as sleep becomes scarce, and hundreds of communities pushing individual fundraisers at the same time.
One final edition brings the old charities back together
Instead of selecting a single new cause for 2026, Z Event is supporting the 22 organizations that have benefited from the event throughout its history. The group includes Médecins Sans Frontières, the French Red Cross, Action Against Hunger, Amnesty International, WWF France, the French League Against Cancer, LPO and Secours populaire.
The Fondation de France is handling donations and distributing the funds among the beneficiaries. For a farewell edition, the structure is unusually fitting: the last weekend effectively revisits the causes attached to the previous nine editions.
The fundraiser was already moving before Friday's streams
Z Event 2026 actually opened on Thursday with a concert at Montpellier's Sud de France Arena. GIMS withdrew for health reasons shortly before the event, with Yamê joining the lineup and Bigflo & Oli extending their performance alongside Gazo and Orchestre Curieux.
By the end of that opening concert, the fundraiser had already reached €500,000 according to LPO. The main streaming marathon had not even started yet.
This is a planned ending, not a collapse
That distinction changes the mood around the entire weekend. Z Event is not being cancelled after losing its audience. When the final edition was announced in May, ZeratoR described the decision as a deliberate choice to close a complete ten-edition story while the event could still remain what its organizers wanted it to be.
The numbers give that decision some weight. Z Event had raised more than €55 million before the 2026 edition, while the 2025 fundraiser alone crossed €16 million.
Over time, it also became bigger than a gaming livestream. Charities gained access to enormous online audiences, donation goals became part of French Twitch culture, and creators who would normally operate in separate communities spent one weekend working toward the same counter.
Sunday's total will also be the final one
Previous Z Events ended with exhausted streamers, a huge fundraising number and an implicit promise that everybody would somehow do it again. There is no Z Event 2027 waiting after this one.
The tenth edition runs through September 6. Then the counter stops.
