Epic Games Store has two free games left to claim before a busy September switch
September 17 is doing a lot of work on the Epic Games Store calendar. The current freebies expire, two new games replace them, and Epic's End of Summer Sale closes on the same day.

Two very different freebies are available now
Astral Ascent and LUFTRAUSERS can currently be claimed for free on PC through the Epic Games Store until September 17, 2026. Games claimed during the promotion remain attached to the user's library after the giveaway ends.
Astral Ascent is Hibernian Workshop's fast 2D action roguelite. Four playable heroes fight through the Garden, an astral prison divided into multiple biomes and guarded by twelve Zodiac bosses. Spells, Auras and permanent progression shape repeated escape attempts.
LUFTRAUSERS goes back much further. Vlambeer's 2014 arcade shooter sends customizable aircraft against fighters, battleships and submarines, with more than a hundred possible equipment combinations and a score-chasing structure built for short, aggressive runs.
The free-game rotation changes Thursday
Epic has already confirmed the next pair. Mindcop and Shogun Showdown are scheduled to become free from September 17 through September 24.
Mindcop is a detective game built around questioning suspects, examining their minds and managing a limited investigation window. Shogun Showdown is a turn-based tactical roguelike in which positioning and attack sequencing matter as much as the abilities being used.
One sale also disappears on September 17
Epic's End of Summer Sale is running at the same time, with discounts of up to 75% advertised across the wider promotion. Some individual reductions go even further.

Regional prices can differ, but Epic currently lists September 17 as the end of the promotion.
September's release calendar is not slowing down
RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Train Sim World 7 and Aniimo are listed for September 15. PATLABOR the Case Files follows on September 16, while September 17 brings another cluster of releases including Mindcop, Shogun Showdown, Dealer's Life Legend and Kernel Hearts.
The larger names return a week later. SILENT HILL: Townfall and CONTROL Resonant are scheduled for September 24 on the store, with EA Sports FC 27 also listed for that date. Transport Fever 3 follows on September 29.
