Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor digs into PS5 and both Switch systems on October 7
Management has identified three new mining sites. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will launch for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 7, 2026. Funday Games has also revealed Knockout, a new expansion that does not yet have a release date.
Three new versions arrive October 7
The date applies to the base game itself: Ghost Ship Publishing and Funday Games are bringing Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor to PS5, Switch and Switch 2 on October 7. The auto-shooter was already available in its full version on PC and Xbox Series X|S before also making its way to iOS and Android.
Survivor began its journey through Steam Early Access on February 14, 2024. Version 1.0 followed on September 17, 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X|S after roughly nineteen months of public development.
Its basic idea remains a solo, top-down reinterpretation of Deep Rock Galactic. Weapons fire automatically while the player concentrates on movement, mining, objectives and upgrades that gradually turn one working dwarf into a roaming industrial accident.
Knockout prefers fists to drills
The other announcement is the Knockout Expansion. It will introduce the Brawler, a new class focused on close-range combat. Funday Games presents this particularly sturdy dwarf as being ready to smash rocks and enemies with raw strength and metal fists.
That should create a noticeably different approach to building a run. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor largely revolves around weapons automatically dealing damage at range; a class designed around close combat instead turns proximity to the swarm into an opportunity rather than an extremely questionable workplace decision.
The expansion already appears as separate content for the base game in Steam's public data, where it remains in a prerelease state. No launch date has been announced, so its reveal should not be confused with the October 7 console release.
Sandblasted Corridors joins Survivor
The Brawler will have an appropriate environment in which to test those metal fists. Knockout adds Sandblasted Corridors, adapting a familiar Deep Rock Galactic environment to Survivor's top-down format.
Initial details mention sand twisters that provide minerals, underground Stabba Vines and exploding spore plants. In a game where carving a route through the terrain is part of both survival and build planning, those environmental hazards can matter almost as much as the creatures occupying the cave.
Knockout also introduces Brood Harvest, a high-risk mission built around new objectives and a new boss. The Dreadnought Empress produces sacrificial offspring that can form a biological shield around their matriarch.
Two schedules that should not be confused
For PlayStation and Nintendo players, the immediate date is straightforward: Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor launches for PS5, Switch and Switch 2 on October 7, 2026.
Knockout is a separate announcement. The Brawler class, Sandblasted Corridors, Brood Harvest and the Dreadnought Empress are planned for the expansion, but Funday Games and Ghost Ship Publishing have not announced its release date.
The Company can therefore open its new console operations in October. As for the dwarf planning to solve Hoxxes' Glyphid problem with metal fists, Management is asking for a little more patience.
