CONTROL Resonant is turning New Game+ into a loop with New Game++ in October
CONTROL Resonant has only just launched, but Remedy is already preparing a way to make the second playthrough stop being the last one. New Game++ is planned for October and will allow completed NG+ runs to feed into another run without throwing away accumulated progress. Photo Mode follows in November, although neither update has an exact release day yet.
The current New Game+ still has an endpoint
New Game+ is already part of CONTROL Resonant. Finishing the campaign lets Dylan return to the beginning while carrying over Aberrant upgrades, health and combat-resource improvements, unlocked supernatural combat abilities, talents and artifacts.
Traversal powers are the major exception. They remain tied to story progression, so movement abilities have to be regained as the new run unfolds rather than arriving fully unlocked from the opening minutes.
What the launch version does not allow is an endless chain of those runs. Once the existing NG+ playthrough is complete, starting over again means giving up the progression accumulated through that cycle. New Game++ is Remedy's answer to that ceiling.
The extra plus matters because builds are deliberately incomplete
CONTROL Resonant does not expect one playthrough to expose every possibility in Dylan's combat kit. Remedy designed parts of its progression around exclusive choices, particularly the powers earned from Resonant encounters and the branches used to shape weapons and talents.
New Game+ already expands those options. It introduces additional talent nodes, opens a fourth Artifact slot and allows broader combinations of combat abilities, including multiple powers associated with the same Resonant.

New Game++ means that experimentation no longer has to stop after one return trip. Remedy says players will be able to begin NG+ run after NG+ run without erasing all of their progress. The studio has not yet explained every carry-over and scaling rule for repeated cycles, so the exact limits of a very long-running character remain to be detailed.
NG+ already changes what pushes back
The existing mode is not simply the campaign with a stronger Dylan. Remedy said ahead of launch that enemies become more dangerous as the world evolves, encounters can shift and some bosses may behave differently when faced again.
That makes the progression loop work in both directions. Dylan enters with a more developed build, but familiar fights are not necessarily frozen at their first-playthrough state.
New Game++ extends that philosophy beyond the second campaign. It gives players somewhere to keep using the systems that only begin to open up once the original build restrictions loosen.
Photo Mode missed launch but is targeting November
Remedy's second dated addition is Photo Mode. The studio says it had already been working on the feature before release but chose to prioritize the overall state of the game for launch.
Members of the virtual-photography community have also been consulted during development. Remedy has not yet published a complete feature list, so details such as camera range, filters, depth-of-field controls and other photography tools should not be assumed yet.
Given how aggressively CONTROL Resonant bends Manhattan, gravity and architecture, there should be no shortage of things to point a virtual camera at once the mode arrives in November.
More cosmetics are coming, but this is not a full roadmap
Remedy also says additional cosmetic pieces for Dylan are planned for future updates. No dates or complete list have been announced for them.
For now, the schedule is deliberately small: New Game++ is planned for October, Photo Mode for November, and more cosmetics sometime later. CONTROL Resonant itself has been available since September 24 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; the post-launch features remain upcoming rather than currently playable.
