Brawl Stars turns Duolingo's owl into a boss with a 20-player fight and a pile of rewards
Brawl Stars' back-to-school season has become considerably stranger. Since September 19, Duolingo mascot Duo has been taking over Starr Park through a temporary event built around a boss fight, community objectives, quizzes and crossover rewards, while Spike has moved in the opposite direction inside the Duolingo app.

The collaboration follows several weeks of public back-and-forth between the two brands, but the joke has now become an actual in-app event. Supercell lists the broader Brawl Stars x Duolingo campaign as running through September 30.
Duo asks questions before he starts swinging
The most unusual addition is the Duo Boss Fight. Supercell's launch release describes it as a 20-versus-one encounter where players cooperate against increasingly powerful versions of the owl while answering questions during the fight.
Correct answers do not keep Duo calm forever. Brawl Stars' own event page says the boss eventually attacks regardless, turning the classroom premise into something much closer to the usual Starr Park chaos.
The community event itself is split into classroom and detention phases. Players first work toward shared gameplay goals, then receive deliberately silly collective assignments to escape detention. Supercell's example is simply changing the in-game language.
The reward list is not subtle
Rewards include the Trash Goblin Darryl skin, Gems, Chaos Drops, Starr Drops, Coins, Bling, Power Points, Credits and an Ultra Trophy Box. Progress is tied in part to community-wide objectives rather than a purely individual checklist.
There is also a separate giveaway built around 3.141592 million Gems. Brawl Stars periodically posts test questions on its official social channels, with participants asked to answer correctly and use the campaign hashtags. Ten winners are due to be selected at random after the event.
Spike has his own homework
Duolingo gets the other half of the crossover. A limited quest asks learners to complete daily lessons, with official launch material listing milestone rewards that include Chaos Drops, Duo-themed cosmetics and Spike as a Brawl Stars unlock for players who complete the challenge.
That makes this more than a branded skin drop. Duo has been turned into an actual Brawl Stars encounter, while Spike has been inserted into Duolingo's streak-driven progression system. The main crossover window runs from September 19 through September 30.
