Nivalis is now Nivalis Nights, and it finally has a September 29 release date
For months, the lack of news around Nivalis looked increasingly unusual. ION LANDS has now explained what happened. A legal matter involving a third party forced the studio to pause marketing, the issue has been resolved, and the cyberpunk life sim is returning under a new name: Nivalis Nights.
The change is strictly a title change. ION LANDS says Nivalis Nights is the same project previously announced as Nivalis, now carrying a new logo and name after the legal obstacles that had affected communications since October 2025 were cleared.
There is also finally a firm launch date. Nivalis Nights will release for Windows PC through Steam on September 29, 2026. An Epic Games Store version is planned for later, but ION LANDS and publisher 505 Games have not attached a separate date to it yet.
Cloudpunk's city has a completely different job this time
Nivalis Nights returns to the towering cyberpunk city introduced in Cloudpunk, although its structure has changed dramatically. Instead of working as a courier, players build a life around businesses, relationships and whatever they decide deserves time that day.

The economic side starts small. A noodle stand can eventually grow into restaurants and nightclubs, with ingredients to buy or grow, staff to manage and venues to expand.
Fishing, boating and home decoration exist alongside that progression. Players can purchase apartments, customize them and spend time with residents rather than treating every hour as another step toward a larger business.
The cozy part lives next to curfews and sabotage
ION LANDS is not presenting the city as an entirely comfortable sandbox. CorpSec crackdowns and a serial killer form part of the wider story, while curfews change what players can do after dark.
Business competition can become less respectable too. The official description explicitly allows players to sabotage rivals, with the warning that competitors can retaliate in kind.
That mixture is what gives Nivalis Nights its identity beyond the familiar life-sim checklist. Restaurants, relationships and fishing occupy the same city as corporate security, rain-soaked streets and businesses willing to cause problems for one another.
Five years later, the project has a finish line
Nivalis was first revealed in 2021. Creative director Marko Dieckmann describes the following five years as a development process that forced the independent studio to deal with hurdles it had not encountered before.
The current Steam listing confirms a single-player Windows release with achievements, cloud saves and family sharing. Minimum requirements include 16GB of RAM, a dedicated GPU with at least 6GB of VRAM and 30GB of storage.
After the long pause in communication, September 29 is now the date ION LANDS is working toward. The name changed along the way, but the city did not.
