Gamescom ONL already has six confirmed stops before the surprises begin
Opening Night Live is still being sold on surprises, but the useful part of the schedule is what no longer requires guessing. Several of the two-hour show's biggest appearances are already public.

The broadcast starts at 8 PM CEST
Gamescom Opening Night Live begins August 25 at 8 PM CEST from Cologne, following a pre-show at 7:30 PM. Organizers currently expect the main event to finish at roughly 10 PM.
Tickets for the live audience are sold out. The show will also stream online through Gamescom's official channels.
Gears of War: E-Day has identified exactly what it is bringing
Xbox has confirmed the world premiere of E-Day's Campaign Story Trailer. That makes its appearance easier to define than most of the lineup: this is a narrative reveal rather than an unspecified promise of “more gameplay.”
The Coalition's prequel returns to Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the opening days of the Locust invasion. The campaign will also be available for public hands-on play during Gamescom itself.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation gets its first post-reveal update
Game director Naoki Hamaguchi will appear live for a new look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Geoff Keighley describes it as the first update since Square Enix unveiled the final chapter of the remake trilogy at Summer Game Fest.
What Square Enix has not promised is just as relevant. There is no official commitment yet to a release-date announcement or an extended combat demonstration during this particular segment.
Songs of the Past is moving from announcement to actual details
CD Projekt RED will show The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past, its new expansion being developed with Fool's Theory.
The expansion returns to Geralt and is scheduled for 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Guided Gamescom presentations begin the following day, so the ONL appearance is effectively the public introduction to a larger showcase running throughout the convention.
Metro and Ananta are confirmed, their exact reveals are not
4A Games says METRO 2039 will receive another trailer during Opening Night Live. NetEase has separately confirmed that Ananta will appear in the broadcast.
Neither confirmation supports attaching an unannounced release date or feature list to those segments before they happen.
Mewgenics is bringing a live performance
Mewgenics will have music performed live in front of the ONL audience. Keighley says it is the first live performance of the game's music and something his shows have not attempted before in this form.
Everything beyond the named appearances remains where it belongs until 8 PM: in the surprise column.
