Beautiful Life Show Turns Every Death Into a Puzzle Partner With a Three-Second Replay Ghost

Beautiful Life Show gives failure a job. Dying rewinds exactly three seconds, preserves the actions that caused the failed attempt and sends a ghost back onto the stage to repeat them.

DRECOM CREATORS STUDIO announced Beautiful Life Show as one of its first publishing projects on September 2. Fukudanuki's PC game still has no release date, but the new presentation puts its unusual death mechanic at the centre of the pitch.

Death creates a reusable three-second sequence

When the player dies, time moves back three seconds. A replay ghost then performs the movements made immediately before that death while the player controls a new attempt.

The ghost can therefore become part of the solution rather than a visual record of failure.

That distinction matters. A conventional rewind erases a mistake. Beautiful Life Show keeps the mistake moving inside the level and asks the player to work around — or deliberately exploit — it.

A useful failure may need to be planned

Because the ghost reproduces the previous sequence, players can potentially prepare those final seconds with the next attempt in mind. A movement that ends in death may still trigger something at exactly the right moment for the surviving version.

The structure begins to resemble a very small piece of behavioural programming. The player records the sequence by physically performing it, dies, then works alongside that recording.

Only three seconds are available. That keeps the system compact enough for timing and spatial puzzles rather than turning every room into a long choreography exercise.

Simple controls are paired with a harder puzzle structure

Drecom describes the game as mechanically straightforward to control but unforgiving when traps are read incorrectly. Intuition, timing and puzzle solving are meant to carry the difficulty.

Steam currently lists action, adventure, puzzle, platforming, horror and surreal elements, with full controller support and a gamepad recommendation.

The horror is staged as entertainment

Beautiful Life Show frames the player as the star of a bizarre performance. Stages use theatrical curtains, spotlights, screens and deliberately unsettling spaces rather than presenting themselves as ordinary levels.

Its mature-content description is correspondingly direct, warning about extreme cruelty, violence, gore, imagery reminiscent of criminal acts and depictions of self-harm.

Fukudanuki's game will appear alongside TIMEMOON and Chill Planet at DRECOM CREATORS STUDIO's Tokyo Game Show 2026 exhibition from September 17 to 21. Steam still lists the release simply as coming soon.
