Shroom and Gloom has spent a long time growing in public. The prototype came first, then the Steam demo, community feedback and increasingly large wishlist numbers. On September 10 the fungal double-deckbuilder finally entered Early Access, and Team Lazerbeam has brought considerably more than an enlarged version of its demo.

Roguelike deckbuilders are crowded enough that adding a few relics and another set of attack cards no longer guarantees much attention. Shroom and Gloom responds by splitting the deck in half, moving into first person and allowing players to cook the monsters when health gets low.
