NBA 2K17 remains one of the series' high points because Visual Concepts understood that realism meant more than faces and uniforms. Positioning, pace, contact, defensive reads and off-ball movement create a dense simulation that becomes remarkably natural once the controls click. MyCareer adds tremendous depth, then wastes some of that goodwill with a VC grind that was already intrusive in 2016.
