Capcom kicks off TGS 2026 with a 40-minute Spotlight and four confirmed games
Capcom is starting its Tokyo Game Show schedule one day early. A roughly 40-minute Spotlight goes live on September 16 at 11 p.m. JST, with four games officially named and at least one Monster Hunter reveal already being saved for the broadcast.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 officially opens on September 17. Capcom's own online programme starts before that, with the publisher scheduling its TGS Spotlight for September 16 at 11 p.m. JST, or 2 p.m. UTC.
Four games have been explicitly attached to the stream: Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Mega Man: Dual Override and Street Fighter 6.
Monster Hunter already has something left to reveal
Ascendance is the one title where Capcom has already told us that part of the presentation will contain genuinely new information. The expansion will be playable at TGS through three different quests, all featuring the new Boost Bracer mechanics.
One of those quests features the return of an Elder Dragon. Capcom has described the encounter, but deliberately withheld the monster's identity until the September 16 Spotlight.
Another demo quest takes place in the new Kumoi Ruins area and sends players after an unidentified flying monster. Ascendance is a paid expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds scheduled for 2027, with new quest ranks, locations, monsters and expanded weapon actions already confirmed.
Dragon's Dogma and Mega Man have playable TGS builds too
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is getting its first playable Japanese showing at the event. Capcom's TGS plans mention the new Norgan region as well as a battle against the ice dragon Fimbul, giving the Spotlight several obvious pieces of material to work with.
Mega Man: Dual Override will have its own playable build featuring stages built around Twinkle Girl and the game's new Override system. Street Fighter 6 is the fourth title formally listed for the broadcast.
Capcom's physical TGS lineup is larger than those four games. Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Pragmata and Monster Hunter Outlanders are among the additional titles appearing at its booth, but Capcom has not included them in the confirmed Spotlight list.
The confirmed programme is narrower than the rumour mill
Forty minutes naturally leaves room for speculation about unannounced material. Nothing beyond the four listed games has been promised for the stream, however, so possible Resident Evil news or surprise projects remain speculation rather than part of Capcom's announced schedule.
What is confirmed is already fairly specific: four featured games, a roughly 40-minute runtime and a Monster Hunter reveal that Capcom has intentionally held back for the broadcast. The show begins at 2 p.m. UTC on September 16.
